Not very interesting but here are a few of the facts:
I am a native of Lawrence, Kansas, thus a Jayhawk by birth.
I was named after my grandmother, Flora Katherine. I also bear a spooky resemblance to her.
I have a bachelors degree in Illustration with a minor in Advertising from Columbus College of Art & Design.
I have freelanced and worked part time for the last 12 years to stay home with the kids but decided to go back to work this year to – don’t laugh – reduce my hours and earn more. I work for LeapFrog Interactive in Louisville, Kentucky as an Interactive Designer.
I enjoy fixing stuff (the house, the car, the computer… it doesn’t matter), hiking and music. I play my trumpet in the praise team at church fairly often (the Bible says “make a joyful noise” without stipulations on how good it is).
My favorite tv show is a British Comedy called “Keeping Up Appearances”. I used to enjoy CSI (the original one with Grisham in it) but don’t get control of the remote very often.
As for movies – I like adventure, romantic comedies or something with a plot to make me think. I like The Thomas Crown Affair, Dragon Heart, The Bourne series, While You Were Sleeping, Two Weeks Notice or just about anything with Sandra Bullock in it. I also enjoy animated movies like Pixar’s stuff. I hate horror movies. Accidentally caught the end of “Hannibal” once – in some instances a photographic memory is not your friend.
Truth be known, I could do without TV all together if I have music. I enjoy a variety of music but mostly listen to Christian Rock. Some favorites: Sanctus Real, Kutless, Switchfoot, Skillet, Brit Nicole, Joy Williams, Todd Agnew, Third Day… there is a really long list but I am sure you aren’t interested
I have been married for 16 years to Clay who is an electrician, electronic technician, hydraulics technician, maintenance mechanic and all around good guy. In his time off he loves Indy and NASCAR racing, hiking, swimming and traveling.
We have two kids:
Kayce (kay-see) is 11 going on 25. She is in the gifted program at school (TAG) for vocal talent and leadership. She enjoys swimming, reading, movies and being active. She prefers to be on the go.
Caleb is 7. He is a typical boy so we hit heads alot about “I said don’t do that!” He loves video games, swimming, digging in the dirt with trucks and our trampoline.
The family pet is a geriatric cat by the name of Tango. He is 17 this year. He spent his 9 lives years ago but is in great health and still plays like he is a kitten. We also have two dogs – Swiper and Buddy. Swiper is a Heinz 57 dog and we think Buddy is a German Shepard/Collie mix.
On a weird note… I ran across this in a Chinese restaurant on the placemat then looked it up on the web. I am apparently a “metal dog”. Just something to make ya say, “Hmm.”
METAL DOG
Feb 6, 1970 to Jan 26, 1971
Dog people are loyal and honest and obedient, guardians of the house at night. They can be counted on to keep secrets and for always doing the right thing. They can be emotionally distant and do not mix well in social gatherings where they are often seen as wallflowers. They do better with one-on-one relationships and find happiness in the happiness they bring to others, such as finding the most perfect gifts for their friends. While it is true that they have sharp tongues and are a bit stubborn and eccentric, in a work situation they tend to work very well with other people. What is more, they always seem to have money and make excellent leaders. Because of their high moral stance, they are inspiring beyond measure.
This one takes a very conservative approach to every aspect of life, somewhat coasting along looking at the scenery with dreams and goals unrealized but the spirit always fulfilled. Ferdinand the Bull is their Poster Boy; they always stop to smell the flowers. Nothing wrong with this, but it’s important to find a balance so there aren’t so many unfinished tasks. Ironically, they tend to be materialistic, but don’t have the patience necessary to acquire big ticket items and major success is illusory. But like gypsies, they move with the wind, taking what comes, with noble chin held high, always finding in life a kind of beauty which does indeed sustain them very much. They make very good friends, loyal to the bone, always finding delightful ways to help others. Friends always know where they stand because of their directness and frank manner. The Love & Romance Department usually finds a very handsome male and a beautiful female, each incredibly attractive to the other and sincerity reigns in their communication. The Metal Dog doesn’t like to take too many chances, preferring conservative and traditional ways of romance. Sometimes, they become virtual love slaves, a little too passive for their own good.
Yes, “hmm” about sums it up.
not bad but need to make sure that trusted sites are turned on.
