has the dust bowl returned?!?

Clay was using the blower to clear the debris out of the house so we could start priming the drywall. The drywall dust was rolling out the windows. It looked like the house was on fire!

Whole lotta digging going on

The septic tank has been installed, the back fill has been mostly done and the electric trench has been dug. Clay has been working like a beaver all week! He has been finishing connecting the septic tank to the sewer system in the house and finalizing wiring all those circuits into the breaker [...]

Earth movin’

The bulldozer operator was out on Monday to take care of getting the backfill in place. It sure does change the landscape to take away those huge mounds of dirt that we have become so accustomed to seeing!
As far as the inside goes, we are waiting for drywall mud to dry

A warm weekend for a change

We finally had a beautiful weekend to work in. The house and garage is completely drywalled and mudding has begun. We should be ready to prime and start painting in short order.

It was so exciting to walk into the house and see drywall hanging! It really re-energized my enthusiasm! We did discover that we missed a couple interior walls that needed batting insulation due to the vaulting. We were at the house until almost 9pm trying to get it done so the drywall [...]
